my dark brows |
an experience with bad permanent makeup |

*Original title, applicable to all eyebrow catastrophes. I love Arrested Development!
I started this blog to catalog the procedures I’ve endured and to track the progress made in correcting my terrible permanent makeup. I am absolutely not an expert on the removal process or permanent makeup; I am only here to share my experiences.
In December 2008, I decided to get permanent makeup done by the same person who waxed my brows. This person was magic in terms of eyebrow shaping and I naively believed that these aesthetic skills transferred over to tattooing.

After three years of wallowing in the ruins of my self esteem at worst, and being uncomfortably resigned with my face at best, I decided to do something about it.
The removal/correction process has been painful both physically and on my wallet. After countless hours of research and anguished contemplation, I’ve been through the following in chronological order:
I will try to provide some of my research from each treatment as well as bits and pieces from each practitioner. My brows are still healing from the last procedure listed above and I’m cautiously optimistic. The sad part is that I will most likely need at least one more round of removal before I can begin cover up work.
Hopefully this blog will prove to be as informative and cathartic as I intend. Actual pictures to accompany each subsequent post. Thank you for stopping by :)
